Once upon a time, not very long ago, Moscow's legendary Bolshoi Ballet was making plans for a 1997 tour of the United States. Indeed, the company wanted to be here... oh, right about now. Well, it ain't comin', even if it could use the money. Rather than visit Lincoln Center or even Lincoln, Nebr., the Bolshoi has chosen to keep its leaps and lunges, pirouettes and arabesques in Moscow, where it will help the city celebrate its 850th anniversary in September.
