On Aug. 9. 1974, President Richard Nixon reads his farewell speech to his staff in the White House. Thanks to intrepid reporting by Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, a seemingly innocuous burglary case at the Watergate Complex turned into revelations about a White House "dirty-tricks squad," and eventually toppled the president.
