The Beatles at Buckingham Palace

The Beatles show off medlas signifying that they're MBEs (Member of the Order of the British Empire), on Oct. 26, 1965. The year before, they'd starred in the era-defining movie "A Hard Day's Night." (The album of the same name was released July 10, 1964.) From the movie to their last concert two years later, the Fab Four went from bright-eyed Liverpudlians with a dream to jaded rockers who were ambivalent about their fame.
