Elizabeth Eckford Turned Away From Little Rock Central High School

Elizabeth Eckford is turned away from Central High School by Arkansas National Guardsmen, 1957, while white students and other adults jeer and scream at her. President Eisenhower later sent the U.S. Army to escort Eckford and other African American students to school.
