The ceremony was held to honor four news photographers, Larry Burrows, Henri Huet, Kent Potter and Keisaburo Shimamoto, who were killed in a helicopter crash while covering the Vietnam War in 1971. The photographers remains are now interred at the Journalists Memorial at the Newseum, which honors those who died or were killed while reporting the news.
